Intake assessment session

For all new clients, the first session is scheduled as an intake assessment session where we can talk in detail about your needs and goals and create a tentative roadmap together.

75 minutes in length and offered virtually via a secure online platform. ​
Cost for intake session: $180 (no HST)

50 minutes in length and offered virtually via a secure online platform. ​

The interval of sessions depends on unique needs and goals and is typically scheduled weekly or bi-weekly.
Cost for individual counselling sessions: $160 (no HST)

Please note that currently, we are offering individual sessions for adults residing in Ontario.

Payment & Receipts​
We welcome Interac e-transfers or credit cards as forms of payment.
​​​
Please note that we require a credit card on file and your card information is stored securely and confidentially.
​
We do not offer direct billing to extended health insurance at this time.
​
As a registered social worker (RSW) and psychotherapist, we provide receipts upon payment for the counselling and psychotherapy services rendered.
​
Insurance​
Therapy sessions provided by a Registered Social Worker are currently not covered by O.H.I.P.
However, many private insurance or extended health care plans offer coverage for this service.

​Please ensure you check your insurance provider and review your coverage policy to see what is covered and how much is covered.
Our Healing Connection provides social work and psychotherapy services as a master-level trained registered social worker. It may be listed as "mental health services," "psychotherapy", "social work" or "counselling".
Please make sure you find what the coverage amount per therapy session is; how many sessions your plan covers, and whether you require approval from your primary care physician.

Cancellation Policy
We require at least 48 hours' notice for any cancellation.
Please note that we require a credit card on file and sessions cancelled with less than 48 hours' notice will be charged for the full cost of the session.

Confidentiality
All of our sessions are private and confidential via a secure online platform with some limitations.
Your safety is top priority and we are obligated to report information that requires disclosure (mandated by law) that raises safety issues.
Below are the cases that require disclosure and breach of confidentiality:

1. Harm to Self / Others
2. Abuse / Neglect to minors
3. Sexual Abuse by a Regulated Health Professional
4. Court Order
5. Audit by a regulatory body

We are legally obligated to report information
as per the Ontario College of Social Workers and Social Service Workers’ Code of Ethics. If you have any questions regarding confidentiality and limitations, please let us know and we can discuss further.

Please note that we routinely engage in supervision to improve practice and care, and may discuss your case with an experienced social worker, without disclosing identifying information and protecting your privacy and confidentiality.

Insurance
Private individual therapy sessions are not covered by OHIP insurance at this time.
Psychotherapy and counseling expenses may be eligible for reimbursement through your employer or extended benefit insurance.
If your coverage includes mental health services provided by a registered social worker (RSW), you can submit a receipt to your insurance provider for a refund. We send receipts after each session payment.
It's crucial to review your coverage policy to understand the specific terms, such as whether it falls under categories like "mental health services," "psychotherapy," "social work", "counseling".

Please review the fee for each session (intake or regular sessions) under our fee menu.
Additionally, check the coverage amount per therapy session, the total number of sessions covered by your plan, and whether prior approval from your primary care physician is necessary.

Cancellation Policy
We understand that unexpected events occur in life, so we aim to accommodate various situations with our flexible cancellation policy.
​
To cancel or reschedule a planned appointment, kindly provide a minimum of 48 hours' notice by email ourhealingconnection@gmail.com.
In case of emergencies or illnesses, please inform us as promptly as possible.
It's important to note that the full session fee will be applied for no-shows or cancellations made at short notice (less than 48hours).

If you happen to miss two or more appointments without prior notice, we will reach out to you to collaboratively find a solution. In the event of an unnotified absence, we may contact you to ensure your well-being.
